Magic: the Gathering's missing tokens
In modern releases of Magic: the Gathering any token card that can be created by a Magic card is printed and inserted at random in booster packs for that set. This wasn't always the case. Older sets contained cards that created tokens but the corresponding token card was never officially printed by Wizards of the Coast.
Magic: the Gathering has 70 of these missing tokens. Popular examples of these include:
1. 2/2 green Ape created by Money Cage.
2. 2/2 colorless Spawn token created by the popular artifact token generator Spawning Pit.
3. The unusual 0/1 blue Starfish, created by Spiny Starfish.
4. 1/1 green Hippo created by Phelddagrif, a popular budget commander in EDH decks.
Reprint sets such as Commander Anthology and Ultimate Masters are slowing reprinting some of the old token creating cards and for the first time printing the referencing tokens along with them. Until we have official tokens for each of the 70 missing tokens, we have sourced PROXY tokens for them all and listed below!
